Create a Research Plan

Overview

A research plan is Trovella's core unit of work. You describe what you want to learn, and Trovella's AI breaks it into structured steps, searches for sources, and compiles findings.

Creating a Plan

1. Navigate to your dashboard
2. Click New Research Plan
3. Enter a descriptive title and your research question
4. Choose the depth: Quick Scan (2-4 steps) or Deep Dive (5-8+ steps)
5. Click Start Research

Writing Effective Research Questions

Be specific about what you want to learn. Instead of "tell me about AI," try "compare the accuracy and cost of GPT-4o vs Claude Opus 4 for code generation tasks."

Monitoring Progress

Once a plan starts, you can watch each step execute in real-time. Each step shows its status, the sources it found, and a summary of findings.
